Sesame Solar Brings on Anne Webb as VP of Sales to Drive Decarbonized Disaster Response

Webb is an energy industry veteran, joining Sesame Solar’s mission to mitigate climate change and provide sustainable disaster relief

Jackson, MI – WEBWIRE

Sesame Solar, the company behind the world’s first renewably powered Mobile Nanogrid for disaster response, today announced the addition of Anne Webb to the company’s leadership team. Joining as the Vice President of Sales, Webb brings 15+ years of leadership experience in the energy and utility industries.

“After working in the energy industry for over a decade, I was drawn to Sesame Solar’s mission towards decarbonizing disaster response through governments, Tribal Nations and whole communities, where we see the impacts of climate change firsthand,” said Anne Webb, VP of Sales at Sesame Solar. “We are in a once-in-a-lifetime global energy transition period, and Sesame Solar’s trajectory towards explosive growth, coupled with its purpose-driven leadership, allows me to be a driving force in creating a future with less fossil fuel dependence through equitable, clean energy solutions for all"

Growing up in West Florida and living in the Southeast, Webb experienced the impacts of extreme weather events and man-made disasters, inspiring her to pivot her career towards clean energy, climate mitigation, and private-public partnerships in 2016 when she enrolled in the Master’s of sustainable energy and environmental management program at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Most recently, Webb managed business development and go-to-market strategy for Nelnet Renewable Energy. Prior to that, she led strategic corporate partnerships and third-party sales channels at a division of Southern Company, the second-largest utility company in the US. Complementing her leadership experience, Webb has a startup mindset having been a founding member of multiple companies including Autotrader.com, a division of Cox Enterprises, the NHL team, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Universal Studios.

“Anne, like many of our team members, made the admirable decision to reinvent herself over the past few years to focus her career on mitigating climate change,” stated Lauren Flanagan, CEO and Co-founder of Sesame Solar. “Her experience in forging energy industry partnerships is invaluable as we aim to bring on new partners and expand our impact. She’s a curious, lifelong learner and I know she’ll be a great addition to our culture and focus on People, Planet, and Profits.”

Webb will lead Sesame Solar’s sales team as the company works to partner with more corporations, communities and local governments to ditch fossil fuel generators in favor of renewable energy for disaster response and off-grid power.
