Beverly Plauché’s Personal Story of Walking with God to Have a Book Exhibit at the 2023 L.A. Times Festival of Books

Journeys of self-discovery and encouragement are popular subjects of the book displays at the L.A. Times Festival of Books. Beverly Plauché is another new author who found herself by finding God. Growing up in a religious yet empty household, Plauché never considered God to be close. But in her book, she describes the key moments that changed her mind and the direction of her life.

“The neat thing about God is that He had His hand on us the entire time.”

The exhibits at the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023 will abound with many books on personal journeys of self-discovery aimed towards motivating readers and encouraging them towards an independent, self-fulfilling life. But for Christian author Beverly K. Plauché, it seemed like the self-made independent life didn’t mean much. Instead, she experienced marvels and miracles when she made the slow shift to trusting God and being in a genuine relationship with Him.

Her book “Walking with the Lord: What a Way to Go” talks about how she first thought she had already achieved independence in her career yet still didn’t get as much out of life as she initially hoped.

She grew up in a family with a religious bent, went to church on Sundays, and was surrounded by Christian culture. Yet despite it all, she never really clicked with it. This led to her never being inclined towards a serious relationship with God, let alone allowing Him to guide her life. She grew up eventually preferring to do things her way.

At certain times, this brought her success. She was overweight at some point, only to shed the pounds. She got solid credentials that got her some pretty good jobs. But several years and one divorce later, she was still soul-searching.

Still, one chance encounter eventually changed her mind and her life.

Author Bio
For thirty-three years, Beverly K. Plauche lived on her own, and she was very independent. She was married and had one child. The important thing to remember was that she was independent of God. She didn’t even know what she was missing. She thought she believed in God, but she did what she wanted when she wanted. She prayed to God. Sometimes her prayers were answered, but that special relationship with God just wasn’t there. She had quite a few good things happen in her life, but the best was yet to come. She divorced her first husband. She had a need and didn’t even know what it was. Remember that she wasn’t saved yet, but since she believed in God, she prayed that she would meet a man who would sit with her in church. The very next Sunday, that’s exactly what happened. She met Don Plauché. Wow! She had fifteen-year-old and six-month-old daughters. Don had never been married. It didn’t look like they fit, but God had a different story. God and Don really changed her life. Her heart was changed. She started thinking differently about things in her life. It didn’t happen overnight. It was a slow process, but the end results are marvelous. She actually started asking God for his direction before she did something. It was hard at first to let God do it his way, but once she made that decision, it was like she was on autopilot. ‘What a way to go.’
