Pinterest expands Creator Inclusion Fund to five additional countries

WEBWIRE

Pinterest is announcing the expansion of its Creator Inclusion Fund to five new countries: Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. The Fund is Pinterest’s incubator program to elevate Creators from historically marginalized communities through financial and educational support.

The program was started in 2021 because Pinterest saw a need to uplift Creators from communities that have been disproportionately underrepresented – including Black, Latiné, LGBTQIA+, Asian, Indigenous people and people with disabilities.

Since its inception, the program has provided support and a path to success to dozens of Creators from the US, UK and Brazil across Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle, Wellness and Food. They have received training and deep industry insights from experts in the field, personalized consulting and a financial grant in cash and ad credits.

Sustainable Lifestyle

The first North American Creator Inclusion Fund cycle of 2023 will be focused on sustainability, since people on Pinterest are actively looking for ways to be more eco-conscious. Participants will create Pins and Pinterest boards focused on upcycling, foraging, farming, thrifting, gardening, and more sustainable-focused content for the duration of the program.

Eligible participants from the US and Canada can apply using this form starting April 4, 2023 at 9 AM ET through April 13, 2023 at 9 PM PT. Independent publishers, digital magazines and content collectives can also participate. Funds in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France will open later this year.

Pinterest is on a journey to build a company with an inspired culture where inclusiveness is not just an expectation, it is a key driver of our competitiveness as a company.

“Our mission is to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and inspiration is fueled by diversity of experiences, perspectives and communities. Expanding this program will unlock more opportunities for disproportionately underrepresented creators and content producers to gain financial support, exposure, resources and reach new audiences looking to be inspired by their passions on our platform" said Zeny Shifferaw, Creator Inclusion Lead at Pinterest.

Previous participants success stories

Pamyla Cummings (@pamylasworld), a skincare and beauty content creator, participated in the 2022 Fashion and Beauty cycle and saw a 68% follower growth (from June to December 2022). She started sharing skincare content on Pinterest because she suffered from acne, and as a result, received so many questions from her new community that she decided to put herself through esthetics school using her Creator Inclusion Fund grant. Her success on Pinterest has given her the opportunity to become a small business owner. Pamyla is now a licensed esthetician.

“The most impactful changes that came out of the Creator Fund was the support I felt from the team at Pinterest! As a content creator, it was amazing to connect with other creators, share tips, and gain insight on what Pinners are looking for when they log on to the app. That really helped to better structure my content moving forward.”

Ryan Razooky (@R2bball) is a youth basketball trainer who participated in the 2022 Wellness cycle. He has found success on Pinterest using video Pins to share performance tips in a digestible way. As a result, he has seen a 220% follower growth (from September to December 2022). Ryan’s success on the platform has been transformative. He used the ad credits from the Fund to sell out merchandise, and brand partnerships helped him purchase another gym, allowing him to expand his business.
