The book “Safe Energy Forever: + Pure water for the world and a cure for cancer” by David S. Halbert will be displayed at the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023. The literary festival will take place on April 22-23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

The L.A. Times Festival of Books is a yearly outdoor event in the heart of California, attracting the largest number of attendees at approximately 150,000. This will be self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s third time exhibiting at the book festival. To drum up visits to their exhibit, the company will not only set up a bigger booth but also offer more exciting activities and more books on display.

Author Bio

David S. Halbert, M.D. grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and has three children, ten grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren. He resides in Abilene, Texas, with his wife, Dee. David graduated from Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas Medical school and served as Captain and Flight Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force. He spent his residency at General Surgery University Texas San Antonio and practiced General Surgery in Abilene for more than forty years. He is also a private pilot and authored a book about breast problems. He started several companies, including Banyan International, Sabian Corporation, West Texas Medical Center(120-bed hospital), The Medical Mall, and Medical Mall surgery center. David served as Chief of Surgery at Abilene Regional Medical Center. He founded and currently serves as President of Clavél Corporation and is one of the original founders of “NEXT” Nuclear Project.

Dr. David Halbert is a highly deserving recipient of the Outstanding Service Award because of his support for the mission of ACU, the Department of Engineering and Physics, the NEXT Lab, and his humanitarian efforts. His quest to address the global root causes of extreme poverty led him to research clean, safe, and affordable energy sources. After understanding the promise of advanced molten salt reactors, he played a crucial role in forming the Nuclear Energy Experimental Testing (NEXT) lab. Dr. Halbert was the first to contribute funds to the project and continues to serve on the NEXT advisory board. He has even written a book promoting and explaining the technology in laymen’s terms. This service is useful in helping the public better understand the benefits of advanced nuclear power.
