Published Author Steve Burkart Releases His Third Novel: “The Darque Side”

“The Darque Side” is the 3^rd novel created by Steve Burkart, who has a background in espionage/counterespionage activities as a Counterintelligence (CI) Agent for 10 of his 22-year military career. His CI assignment was in Europe during and shortly after the Cold War.

His 3^rd book is another gripping thriller in the tradition of great espionage novels. The story begins when a four-man team of Iranian terrorists surreptitiously enters the US, and the desecrated body of a US Border Patrol Agent near the US/Mexico Border is its notification of things to come. The team’s goal is to kill as many Americans as it can in the nation’s capital, with the President of the US being the ultimate target. The plot is thwarted by John Darque and the covert organization he heads, but while investigating the incidents which occur, he realizes he is fighting two battles: one global, and one personal that are somehow conjoined.

Digging deeper into the Iranian team’s motives, Darque discerns its mission was a ruse to cover a more sinister plot taking place in Iran to destabilize the world, and the effort was being supported by the governments of China and Russia. Darque, known to his friends as ‘Chadeaux’, leads a contingent of personnel to Europe and the Middle East to try to end the Iranian threat. From an obscure event in the jungles of Southeast Asia, to encounters with government intent on acquiring world dominance, ‘Chadeaux’ remained the thread that kept the world stable ‒ until his untimely ‘demise’.

The Chadeaux Trilogy is a compelling series of stories that will take readers through harrowing situations and plot twists that create a riveting ‘can’t-put-the-book-down’ experience.
