Sponsorship to Include Assistance with Technology Requirements

PLANO, Texas and Stockholm, Sweden – EDS today announced that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with Nobel Media to become a Global Sponsor of the Nobel Prize Series, and with Nobel Web to become its Global Technology Services Partner. The three-year agreement will enable EDS to apply its technology expertise for the benefit of the Nobel Prize Series and the organization’s Web technologies, including supporting the development of content on nobelprize.org, Nobel’s award-winning website.

“For the past 45 years, EDS has fostered innovation in the IT outsourcing market,” said Ron Rittenmeyer, EDS president and chief operating officer. “Our clients expect us to provide innovation that drives their productivity. EDS is proud to be associated with the ultimate in innovative thinking and academic honor and excited about the potential of our new partnership.”

As part of this agreement, EDS will collaborate with Nobel Media and Nobel Web to develop content and educational programs focused on increasing understanding of the disciplines covered by the Nobel Prize. EDS will also support the placement of Nobel Prize-related content on television networks, with emphasis on increasing distribution and coverage.

“Adding EDS as our Global Sponsor will allow the Nobel Prize Series to focus on our core purposes and let an industry leader support our technology strategy,” stated Camilla Hylten-Cavallius, CEO of Nobel Media. “We look forward to a strong partnership with EDS and welcome their expertise to help us keep an eye on our future needs.”

The 2007 Nobel Prize Award Ceremony for Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Chemistry, Physics, and for Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel, will take place on December 10 in Stockholm, as it has since 1901. The Nobel Peace Prize is presented on the same day in Oslo.

The signing of the agreement between EDS and the Nobel Prize Series took place yesterday at EDS’ global headquarters. Ron Rittenmeyer, along with Michael Boustridge (EDS vice president, global sales & marketing), Camilla Hylten-Cavallius, Alf Lindberg (CEO of Nobel Web), and Adam Smith (Editor-in-Chief of Nobel Web) were present for this important event.
