Published Author Sherry Lady Shares Inspirational From Throughout Her Eight Decades of Life’s Journey

The author’s interest sparks when one day she was asked to write something of spiritual encouragement for a weekly church newsletter. “That step began the formation of thoughts, feelings, inspirations and stories from life experiences and energized the bringing forth of all that I had held inside over the years. Adding to that were inspirations from friends, their stories and a heart opening that allowed me to view all of life in more depth. I have continued these essays and will do so as long as life allows.”

About the Author
Sherry Lady (Ripple) is a native Oregonian, born in Portland, Oregon where she lived until the age of nine. At that time she and her parents and sister moved to a farm in a small village known as Cove Orchard in rural Yamhill County, where she attended a two room schoolhouse that had a creek running beside it. After graduating from the 8th grade there, she attends Yamhill High School in the town of Yamhill three miles from her home.

From high school, she attended Oregon College of Education where she earned her BS degree in Education, with a minor in art. It was here that she met her husband of 58 years who was also in education. They both began their teaching careers in Dallas, Oregon. After their two children, Julie and Jeff were born they moved to Aloha, Oregon where Sherry stayed home with the children and her husband taught high school.

In 1966 the family of four moved overseas to Japan where Sherry and Robert were on the teaching staff at the American International School in Tokyo. Upon completion of four years in Japan the family moved to Eugene, Oregon where both continued to be in education. (Robert passed in 2016.) Sherry completed her MS degree in education at the University of Oregon and an associate degree in theatre,

Upon retirement, Sherry attended ministerial school at Unity School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Upon completion, she returned to her home church in Eugene and became an associate minister and youth education director, as well as a director for their theatre musical productions. Though no longer the youth education director she is still on the three-person ministerial staff at the church and shares in the leadership of the congregation.
