Ervin F. Johnston’s “Humpty Dumpty is Alive and Well” Will Be Exhibited at The 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

The wonderful children’s book “Humpty Dumpty is Alive and Well” by Ervin F. Johnston will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the L.A. Times Festival of Books 2023. The literary festival will take place on April 22-23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.

Most people are familiar with the nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty, who takes the form of an egg that breaks after falling off a wall and can’t be put back together. The character has become a part of popular culture through a number of media, and it is often used to represent a situation that seems hopeless or irreparable.

In “Humpty Dumpty is Alive and Well,” two little girls put the formerly all broken apart Humpty Dumpty back together again. The new Humpty Dumpty becomes the ruler of Alohaland where he sits at a long table with other nursery rhyme characters who have been waiting centuries to tell the rest of their stories.

Humpty Dumpty invites the two little girls to sit with the nursery rhyme characters at the long table in Alohaland so that the two little girls can hear the rest of the nursery rhymes as told by the characters that actually lived the nursery rhymes. To get to Alohaland the two little girls must crawl through their bedroom mirrors and then walk down a long hallway with their reflections to a pair of golden doors that open into Alohaland. They then walk through a field of beautiful flowers to the long table where they are greeted by Humpty Dumpty and the nursery rhyme characters. Author Ervin F. Johnston began penning these stories for kids around two months after he turned ninety years old.

Author Ervin F. Johnston served aboard a ship during the Korean War and subsequentially practiced patent law for forty-three years. He is a pilot, a San Diego diver of the year 1973, and a retired naval reserve captain. He has been married to his wife Louise for sixty years. She, who loved stories and telling stories, was a major inspiration for this book.
