Alison Morea Duiker’s Memoir “A Daughter’s Journey” Is Displayed at LibLearnX 2023 Book Exhibition

Alison Morea Duiker’s memoir “A Daughter’s Journey: …and Story of Resilience” was showcased by self-publishing company and book marketing ReadersMagnet at the LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience (LLX) 2023 last January 27-30, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans.

Formerly called American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting, the LibLearnX 2023 was considered the biggest library conference ever held in Louisiana, having been attended hundreds of attendees from the library sector, the academe, and the general public. The purpose of the event was to bring together library professionals and stakeholders, offering them the platform to interact, network, and discuss plans and initiatives to support libraries and the communities they serve.

At the LibLearnX 2023 were held interactive programs, hands-on workshops, award ceremonies, forums, discussions, and speaking engagements by some of the big-name personalities in the library field. An exhibition - the LibLearnX Marketplace - was also held to showcase notable books, as well as technologies and services designed for libraries. Author Alison Morea Duiker’s captivating memoir was exhibited by ReadersMagnet at their exhibit booth at the LibLearnX Marketplace.

“A Daughter’s Journey” narrates the author’s life and her mother, Lonene Ray Rogers. When Alison was five years old, Lonene suddenly left the house and never returned. Lonene’s life was a series of endless arguments and abuse with her husband. Although it has been 40 years since Lonene disappeared, there are many clues left behind that tell a different story surrounding the circumstances of her disappearance. Alison’s memoir is a tribute to her mother’s legacy.

Alison Morea Duiker lives in Cleveland, Ohio, with her loving husband and three beautiful Children. She has worked with young children as a Special Education Teacher for over twenty years. Alison is the author of the memoir, “A Daughter’s Journey”… and Story of Resilience. In this powerful memoir, she details the story of her missing mother and her childhood growing up without her. She is the co-author of the children’s Rudy the Resilient Rhinoceros. This children’s book tells a unique story of a young Rhino calf who discovers the power of his resilience. She is currently working on coauthoring two additional children’s book with each of her children.
