Enel extends the "Energy for Growth" program to the world of renewables

  • The training program by Enel and Elis expands its reach and aims to train more than 2,000 specialized professionals to join Enel Green Power’s supplier companies
  • The professionals will work on the implementation of new photovoltaic and wind power stations and storage facilities throughout Italy 

Energy for Growth, the training program launched by Enel in partnership with Elis, is expanding its reach to include the renewables sector, with the goal of training more than 2,000 new energy transition professionals by 2025 to be employed in the supplier companies of Enel Green Power.

Launched in 2022 with the goal of training 5,500 new smart grid operators within two years, the program has already attracted more than 12,000 applications and enabled more than 2,400 young people to obtain a professional qualification with the aim of finding employment in Enel’s supply chain companies. Now, it is aiming to create new specialized skills that support the development of power generation from renewable sources in Italy, helping to accelerate the country’s energy transition path.

The program, aimed at high school graduates, aims to support the growth of the renewables supply chain, specifically training electrical specialists, civil-mechanical specialists and junior site managers who will work with Enel Green Power on the construction of new photovoltaic, wind and energy storage plants throughout Italy. Requests for personnel from companies participating in the program will be systematized by geographic area and, in the selection phase, handled by some of the major employment  agencies, including Manpower, GiGroup, Orienta and Randstad. Before starting the training process, candidates will be able to evaluate the proposed place of employment.

ELIS, a non-profit organization committed to training people for work, is coordinating the initiative for the recruitment, training and career path identification activities, which will enable candidates to work in one of Enel Green Power’s partner companies. Their induction will be preceded by 200 hours of free training at certified institutes for which the participants will receive expense reimbursement. To date, the training institutes involved are Agorà, Fasten and App Energia, but others may be added during the course of the program, also depending on the number of requests for participation from the students.

It trains people for work with a focus on the vocational placement of young people and the unemployed.
