Reginald Andah’s Pairs Music with Post-Apocalyptic Fiction at LLX 2023

Reginald Andah is one of the newest authors in the religious, post-apocalyptic genre. His book, “A New Dawn,” takes the standard formula of End Times science-fiction, and incorporates new themes inspired by the events of the last three years and further enhanced with music composed by the author himself.

At this year’s Library Learning Experience, there was a full exchange of new ideas as well as new ways to experience fiction. Reginald Andah’s “A New Dawn” was a great example within the genre of End Times religious literature.

Mixing science-fiction, romance, action and Christian themes, “A New Dawn” tells the story of Xander Williams, a soldier-in-training coming to grips with a new reality after World War 3. The Earth had become an unrecognizable wasteland as otherworldly beings drove humanity’s last survivors to ship-bound space colonies.

Andah published the book back in 2021, after finally making the commitment to pursue writing as a career. Of course, Andah himself is no stranger to adversity, and actually sees the book as the culmination of all the times he had overcome challenges with just his faith.

On top of that, Andah had even composed a musical soundtrack to accompany the book, which readers can listen to for free online. With all the new, creative ways that authors sought to distinguish themselves, he realized he could go beyond just writing words and showcase more of his talents to make his work a truly immersive experience.

The book also mixes in his own, religious commentary on the state of world at the time he was writing it, with allusions to politics, survival and the power of faith. Yet at the same time, he’s packed it with many entertaining tropes from science-fiction, anime and even fantasy.

Interested readers can purchase “A New Dawn” on Barnes and Noble, as well as Amazon. The book’s soundtrack can be listened to on the Andah’s own website, as well as YouTube, Spotify and iTunes.

Author Bio
Reginald Andah was born and raised in Houston, Texas. At a young age, he had a creative mind and an interest in learning. Both attributes allowed him to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English from Texas State University. However, his accomplishment, along with others, could not have come to fruition without faith. Growing up in a low-income household with his mother eventually landed them on the streets. His uncle frequently assisted with his mom’s financial difficulties. However, the constant struggle was taking its toll.

Determined to take care of her only son at the time, his mother had to move from shelter to shelter as employment was difficult. Due to their unfavorable conditions, school and social life were a challenge for him. Though he excelled in academics, moving from district to district made him isolated and an easy target for being antagonized as the new student in his classes. His teenage years were more troublesome as his mother’s mental health started to decline, and he now had a brother. Thankfully, his uncle continued to assist him whenever he needed even though he could no longer support his mom.

Though times were hard, his faith allowed him to persevere and make a life of his own. Independence was gained through adversity. He supported his family by procuring his own job while going to school. Though he always had a passion for creating, he never thought of potentially making it a career goal. It wasn’t until he graduated from high school and took college courses dedicated to writing that he realized his drive for storytelling. Ever since he has been inspired to create stories with morals centered on his faith in God.
