While Brion had a long civil engineering and construction career that ended with his being a full-time Project Safety Manager during the last ten years. In 2013, shortly after retiring, he co-authored a 272-page book on safety and risk titled “Safety Under Construction.” In 2017, Brion began volunteering for a Hospice organization based out of Bend, Oregon, and continues his volunteering efforts to this day.

He has written numerous poems and prose dealing with death and dying and coping with the grief and loss of a loved one. He states that his book of poetry and prose is intended to be inspirational and thought-provoking. Brion is also the author of “When The Rose Fades,” a poetry book published in 2000. Brion hopes his poetry and prose will inspire and comfort readers just as he opened himself up in ways of honesty and humanness.
