Xavier Biggs grew up in West Philadelphia, surrounded by rich boxing culture. He turned pro in the late ’70s. Still, he traded his professional career by the mid-’80s to assist his younger brother Tyrell, a three-time world amateur boxing champion and an Olympic gold medalist.

In 1988, he started a business in Atlanta devoted to training amateur boxers. Xavier’s diverse and impressive training techniques made a mark in fitness and training. He has helped top amateurs and pros, including 1996 Olympic bronze medal champ Zahir Raheem, and world champions like Pernell Whitaker and Meldrick Taylor.

Working with the famous artist “Usher” for his role as Sugar Ray Leonard in “Hands of Stone” was one of Xavier’s most cherished fitness training experiences.
