Author Renea Simpson’s “Soul Sister Survival:” The Best of Both Worlds

An impressive poet and now a remarkable story-teller, Renea Simpson presents us one of her most heart-tugging books yet, “Soul Sister Survival: Backroads.”

Though majority of her works consist of poetry, this book is actually a short story, but still with poems in it, which makes it even better. The three-part series revolves around the heroine, Francine Cook, and her road towards self-discovery. Trials and tests build up her story as she faces conflicts with her own family, and with herself. Her story is one that defines love and depicts the strength of a woman the moment she gains self-esteem and break free from procrastination. In this gripping novel eloquently written, tons of moral lessons can be learned.

The author, Renea Simpson is more than willing to show her talent to the world, one that she considers God-given. It is her passion to have each word touch someone’s heart. At an early age, she discovered her interest in writing poetry and short stories. Although she initially took a different path when she served the country as a member of the United States Army, she eventually went back to pursue her passion as a professional writer, making her talent more than just a hobby. With over 15 books published, she continues to render our hearts and have us in awe with both poetry and fiction.

“Soul Sister Survival: Backroads” is just the first part to a thrilling story filled with twists and turns. Not to mention it is the best of both worlds for all the poem and novel lovers out there.

About the Author
Renea Simpson is a native of Florence, Alabama, a 1979 graduate of Coffee High School, Florence, Alabama. She served a number of years in United States Army, honorably retiring in 1989. Currently she is pursuing her first passion, writing poetry and fiction. A “positive thinker” she believes in seeing the proverbial glass as half full for God, never let it go empty when you lean and depend on HIM. Her belief on life is: meeting mornings with a smile, sitting, reflecting for a while, “appreciating” God gives you many chances to “get it right and tight” before you leave this life. “Realizing” life is not a game, it is a serious business. Once gone, fortune and fame, all that is left of you are memories “hopefully” a good name.
