Alice D. Hickey’s book display piqued readers’ interests at LibLearnX: The Library Experience 2023

Self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet did a great job displaying the captivating nonfiction picture book “Ukraine Heroes: Ukraine” by Alice D. Hickey (aka Miss Daena) at LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience on January 27-30, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.

“Ukraine Heroes” is an illustrated story about Ukrainian war heroes and contains stunning watercolor paintings of Ukrainian war heroes. For Miss Daena, the soldiers, orphans, refugees, civilians, doctors, volunteers, and regular citizens who cared for those in need during the conflict are all heroes. Anyone could respect the accomplishments of Ukraine’s heroes. It’s not just a piece of history but also a lovely coffee-table book. This book is an excellent resource for teaching Ukrainian history to both children and adults.

Miss Daena conducted thorough research and drew imaginative pictures to accompany it. Finding good in a tragic situation like a war is difficult. She tried to show the bright side of the Ukraine crisis by focusing on its heroes. Wars are horrible, but God has promised that Christians will find good even in the worst of times.
