“Following Jesus into Jail” is the author’s testimony of how she found a new life through Christ’s redemption after suffering from alcohol addiction for a long time. During her childhood, she was exposed to fear of wrongdoing and grew up in a household fraught with tension. She experienced traumas as a teenager and never fully dealt with them therapeutically. Her next relationship was unhealthy and negative, but she truly loved this man, Phil, and it was the same man who helped her regain her confidence. He supported her emotionally, mentally, and academically as she pursued a master of library science. Unfortunately, he drank too much. His drinking problems were as severe as her stepfather’s, which led to many miserable times.

Eventually, she fell into alcohol addiction, leading to physical and mental health problems. This was the time when Shannon pleaded to God to save her from her alcohol problem. Conversely, many miracles took place in 2017. This is where God’s grace, mercy, love, and redemption took over her life.

This book will give readers a new perspective that no matter how big their sins and failures are, God’s mercy and grace are still abundant. According to Shannon, it was God who instructed her to write this book and share powerful messages about Him.

Author Bio

Shannon Teichmann lives in Texas with her husband and several fur babies. She worked as a professional librarian for fifteen years and is currently employed with The Salvation Army. Shannon served four months in a Texas county jail after a second DWI conviction, wherein she began writing “Following Jesus into Jail” from a Christian testimony viewpoint. She is working on her second book and also planning her third. She is interested in jail ministry and is also an artist occasionally completing commissions for her clients.
