“It is never too late in life to come to Christ or for the prodigal to return to Him.” – Shannon Teichmann

The book “Following Jesus into Jail” by Shannon Teichmann was last displayed at the 2023 LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience last January 27-30, 2023, at New Orleans N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.

“Following Jesus into Jail” is the author’s testimony of how she found a new life through Christ’s redemption after suffering from alcohol addiction for a long time. During her childhood, she was exposed to fear of wrongdoing and grew up in a household fraught with tension. She experienced traumas as a teenager and never fully dealt with them therapeutically. Her next relationship was unhealthy and negative, but she truly loved this man, Phil, and it was the same man who helped her regain her confidence. He supported her emotionally, mentally, and academically as she pursued a master of library science. Unfortunately, he drank too much. His drinking problems were as severe as her stepfather’s, which led to many miserable times.

Eventually, she fell into alcohol addiction, leading to physical and mental health problems. This was the time when Shannon pleaded to God to save her from her alcohol problem. Conversely, many miracles took place in 2017. This is where God’s grace, mercy, love, and redemption took over her life.

This book will give readers a new perspective that no matter how big their sins and failures are, God’s mercy and grace are still abundant. According to Shannon, it was God who instructed her to write this book and share powerful messages about Him.
