Netflix ISP Speed Index for January 2023

WEBWIRE

Vietnam’s Saigontourist Cable Television went up 0.2 Mbps in January on the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which Internet Service Providers provide the best prime time Netflix streaming experience. VNPT in Vietnam went down 1.0 Mbps from December’s results, and three ISPs, Royal Cable in the Philippines, FPT Telecom in Vietnam and Meganet in Venezuela, were down 0.4 Mbps.

January also marked the addition of three ISPs, including Netplus Broadband and RailTel in India and Claro in Costa Rica.

In total, 27 countries were in the top performance tier for January with an average speed of 3.6 Mbps: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States.

Vietnam was the only country to register a significant loss of speed in January, declining 0.6 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions. We also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: Visit https://FAST.com on any internet browser or download the FAST Speed TestiOS or Android app.
