Mark A. Handy’s Book “Freedom Lost” is successfully displayed at the LibLearnX 2023

Mark A. Handy engages his readers with a thrilling tale of courage and rebellion that keeps them on the edge of their seats.

“Mark A. Handy’s debut novel is fast-paced and well-dramatized. With the president’s rescinding of individual rights, it could also satisfy the wildest expectations of conspiracy theorists.” – Christine Wald-Hopkinsch, Arizona Daily Star, April 2, 2016.

ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing and book marketing company, did a great job of displaying Mark A. Handy’s speculative fiction book “Freedom Lost” at the 2023 LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience, which took place on January 27–30, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.

“Freedom Lost” is an exciting and informative read that brings readers to a fascinating realm of war and personal freedom. In the story, the United States of America has turned into a dictatorship. Lawrence Lording, having won the presidency in a three-way election, suspends the Constitution and dissolves Congress.

Southern Arizonans make a stand against Lording at Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains, prompting the latter to resort to a tactical nuclear weapon. Mason William (aka “Grizz”) Wallace, the lone survivor of the attack, seeks to lead a nationwide uprising in revenge for the deaths of his friends. Wallace goes to Chicago after hearing rumors of a radical uprising there.

Mark A. Handy, a brilliant author, wrote this book without favoring either major political party. More so, a sequel is on the way.

Mark A. Handy, author of Freedom Lost, was raised in a military family. His father was career Army so Mark travelled quite a bit, from Georgia to Chicago and much of western Europe. His family finally settled in Sierra Vista, AZ, in southeastern Arizona. Mark spends his time between his Tucson home and his family in Sierra Vista.

From his own service in the Army, he gained an appreciation for the liberties so often taken for granted by Americans today. To try and awaken a valuation of these inalienable rights in his readers, he wrote “Freedom Lost” with no political bias. “How would the American people react?” was his premise. His sequel, currently underway, continues to seek the answer.
