Everything Good at Black Light Fellowship

Chicago, IL – WEBWIRE

The Black Light Fellowship’s official website has got to be one of the best Christian ministry sites you can find on the internet. Curious? Here’s why.

They are culturally relevant. The Black Light Fellowship promotes the Christian Liberty of Black folks. Racism against black people is still very present to this day. Black Christians in particular, still somehow feel culturally and socially suppressed. Thus, the fellowship, led by Rev. Dr. Walter McCray, provides an avenue for Black Christians to stay true to their calling and be proud of their ministry. As a matter of fact, the Seven Affirmations of Black Light Fellowship can be found in their website. It is a 7-point list affirming their God-given and beautiful Blackness. Anyone can visit and see for themselves.

One of the main aim of their website is to showcase Black Christian Literature. Through their publishing and media mission, one can easily get their hands on Black Christian books. These books cover a wide array of topics. A few of their bestsellers are the following: “The Black Presence in the Bible;” “The Black Presence in the Bible and the table of Nations;” “Pro-Black, Pro-Christ, Pro-Cross – African Descended Evangelical Identity;” and “Follow Jesus and M.Y.O.S.B.”

It has been 40 years since the Black Light Fellowship was established, but their mission and purpose are still so much alive and well. Through putting up a website, they are now more accessible and hopefully, more successful in their Christian pursuits.

About the Author
A native Chicagoan, Rev. Dr. McCray is a seasoned minister of the Gospel who has pursued his vocation for over five decades. He is a Gospelizer, “a Good News messenger” of Jesus Christ. Since receiving his call in 1969, the Lord has used him to elevate the saints, to heal and serve the poor and oppressed, and to return the lost to Christ’s salvation.

Consequently, his mission is to glorify God in the Name of Christ by being Black and of Christ. To that end, preaching the Gospel to the poor, strengthening bonds within the Church community, and teaching the Bible from an Afrocentric viewpoint are his specific areas of emphasis.
