Inditex -parent company of Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho and Zara Home- has donated three million euros to the Red Crescent to support humanitarian relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria. Our donation will be used to cover the basic needs of the victims of the earthquakes.

Some of the major challenges for relief efforts include the difficulty in accessing certain affected areas, the disruption of telecommunications and the freezing temperatures that people have to face after their homes have been damaged or destroyed.

The Turkish Red Crescent has deployed manpower and equipment to the 10 affected provinces in southern and south-eastern Türkiye. In addition to providing basic necessities (blankets, tarps, cooking kits, water, etc.), professionals on the ground are supporting search and rescue efforts, providing psychosocial assistance, distributing hot meals and have sent blood and plasma to the area.

On the other hand, the Doctors Without Borders emergency unit, funded by Inditex on an ongoing basis, is already working to identify medical needs following the catastrophe and deploy its resources to help victims.

In addition to the economic aid, Inditex provided 500,000 outerwear products to the Red Crescent and AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) with the support of its local suppliers. The first batches of these began to be sent to be distributed to the people affected by the earthquake.
