The parenting self-help guide “The Joy of Parenting: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Guide to Effective Parenting in the Early Years” by Lisa W. Coyne is ready to be displayed by ReadersMagnet at LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience on January 27–30, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.

“The Joy of Parenting” is a book that assists parents who sometimes feel overwhelmed to parent effectively, even in challenging situations. This book teaches readers acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) strategies that will make them more self-aware, sensitive and responsive to their children, and allowing them to help their child thrive even when they undergo significant life transitions.

When their children are acting out, parents should be able to step up and help. The only catch is that parents are human too, which means they might experience emotions like anger, fear, and knee-jerk reactions that make perfect parenting practically impossible.

This book provides helpful skills-based activities to help parents deal with tantrums and defiance, refocus on the larger picture when they feel overwhelmed, be kind to themselves when they make errors, and adjust their parenting style as their child goes through typical developmental transitions.
