“The young are not afraid of telling the truth.” Anne Frank

Rev. Kenneth Ekdahl’ s “Dearest Kitty”: Anne Frank: Then and Now book exhibition was a success. Many participants at the New York Library Association (NYLA) 2022 Annual Conference & Trade Show flocked over to view the published work on the life of Anne Frank. Self-publishing company ReadersMagnet initiated the book display, showcasing Fr. Ken Ekdahl’ s non-fiction and other notable published works.

The NYLA 2022, held last November 3-4, 2022, at the Saratoga Springs City Center, New York, generated a massive crowd of attendees coming from the library and academic sector, including the general public, making the event the biggest library conference for the library community on the East Coast. NYLA is the New York chapter of the American Library Association (ALA), organized to promote the advancement of New York’s library community.

Fr. Ken Ekdahl’ s “Dearest Kitty” joined other outstanding literature in the exhibition during the two-day event. The book is inspired by a fateful meeting between Ken Ekdahl and a mysterious man in Amsterdam. The author and his friend, Mike Burke, toured Anne Frank Foundation (Fonds) Annex in Amsterdam, Holland, and after visiting the gift shop, they ventured over to a downstairs diner across the street. An elderly gentleman approached their table and asked if he could sit with them, and he did. The man started a conversation about the foundation and the site.

When their unexpected guest stood up to leave, he took care of their bill and handed them his card. On the card was written: Otto H. Frank, father of Anne Frank. An incredible experience for both Ken and his friend.
