“Bertha’s Son” is a memoir that tells the impregnation of a virgin named Albertha and details the life experiences and sufferings of the author, starting from when he was a child up until he was able to live a successful life.

As a child, Joseph struggled with a lot of problems and difficulties. He never got to experience genuine love and care from his father; instead, he only received cold and cruel treatment from him. He also suffered sexual assault from his very own teenage cousins. On top of that, he was even restricted to go to school not until he was nearly ten years old. Imagine being in the same situation as Joseph; some people would just give up on their life.

But in Joseph’s case, he was determined to get away from his hell-like life. He did everything he could to achieve a better life. He studied hard, obtained a degree, and found a job at Georgetown Hospital.

He eventually moved to the United States to find a better opportunity, build a better life for himself and his family, and, most importantly, find a great chance to serve his fellow humans.

His courage, perseverance, and passion were incomparable. This is a must-read book for everyone who is losing their fire and passion for achieving their goals in life.
