Led By HBIS Wusteel, Two National Standards Reached World Top Level

Led by HBIS Wusteel, the amendments of national standard Steel Plates with Through-thickness Characteristics and Steel Plates for Building Structures have passed the reviews of National Steel Standardization Technical Committee Plate & Strap Sub-committee. Experts have affirmed that the two standards have reached world level, which further highlights the power of discourse and status of HBIS Wusteel in the industry, fully reflects its advanced in the field of plates with through-thickness characteristics and plates for building structures production.   

HBIS Wusteel has led the formulate of national standard GB/T 5313 Steel Plates Through-thickness Characteristics and in 2010, the teams completed the first amendment to the standard. The newly completed amendment is also led by HBIS Wusteel. The amendment focuses on the supplement of new definitions and amended the standards for defect detection. They also add the standards to sampling sizes with or without extensions under some of thickness of plates.

The national standard of Steel Plates for Building Structures is published in 2005. HBIS Wusteel also led the development of the standard and led its first amendment in 2015. The standard has significantly improve the development of steel building structures of the country, and the high performance structural steel produced by HBIS Wusteel has been widely used in important projects, including National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) and the National Grand Theater in Beijing. Led by HBIS Wusteel, the new amendment adds the applications of high performance steel in downstream industries and improves applicability of the national standard.
