Travel safely with AirAsia this festive season

SEPANG – WEBWIRE

AirAsia would like to encourage all guests travelling during the school holidays, Christmas and New Year period to follow the below travel advisory for a safe and seamless travel experience.

Before you book your flight with AirAsia, please take note of the following requirements:

  • Ensure that you (and your family) are eligible to travel. Please check on any travel restrictions or special requirements for travel to your destination, including passport validity of at least six months, necessary travel visa or e-visa, relevant health documents and proof of vaccination certificate if applicable. You must meet the requirements for every country you will travel to and transit through. These requirements may change from time to time so we advise that you check with the authorities for the latest updates.

  • Self check-in via the airasia Super App to minimise physical contact and crowding at the airport. You can easily self check-in as early as 14 days before your departure date and use the e-Boarding Pass to board your flight.

Please note

  • Download the airasia Super App from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery. You will be able to receive the latest travel information on your flight changes and updates on your airasia Super App.

  • Counter check-in service will only be available for guests with reduced mobility, those travelling with an infant (under 24 months of age), senior citizens and young guests travelling alone.

  • Pregnant guests are required to fill out a form at the counter before boarding. If you are more than 27 weeks pregnant, you are required to submit an approved doctor’s medical certificate. Read more about the requirements here.

  • Guests with reduced mobility may pre-book Special Assistance (Wheelchair Service) at the time of booking or via My Bookings at least four hours before the scheduled flight departure time.

  • Arrive early at the airport. You are encouraged to arrive at least three hours earlier (for international flight) before your scheduled time of departure to allow for enough time for all the necessary processes to take place during this peak travel period.

  • Use contactless kiosks at the airport to print baggage tags and self-drop your bags. If you have bags to check in, remember to pre-book your baggage online at the time of booking or up to 4 hours before your flight to enjoy the best savings. Once you have self checked in online, simply scan the QR code on your e-Boarding Pass at the check-in kiosk to print the baggage tags and proceed to the self baggage drop counters to load your bags. You can also increase your baggage allowance up to 4 hours before departure.

  • Ensure your cabin baggage is the right size. Each guest is only allowed one piece of cabin baggage (not larger than 56 x 36 x 23cm in dimension) and one laptop bag or handbag or small bag on board. The total permitted weight for 2 pieces of unchecked baggage must not exceed 7kg.

  • Pre Book your inflight meals early. You may pre-book your meals online from now up to 24 hours before your flight departure for greater savings and to be assured of your meal choice availability alongside priority meal service on board.

For guests who are affected by a flight change or rescheduling:

  • Move your flight for FREE easily at any time. Just log in to your account on airasia Super App or airasia.com, click My Booking, select the affected flight and click Modify. The flight change is free of charge for one time move within one month from your original departure date. Or, opt to change your flight via AirAsia’s chatbot AVA.
