Katie Taylor Wyman was born and raised in Williston, North Dakota, to Donnette and Douglas Taylor. She attended college at North Dakota State University. In 2006, she married Russell Wyman. Katie and Russell had three children: Jeten in 2010, Paisely in 2011, and Maverick in 2017. The couple have been foster parents for over six years and continue to help children in their community.

Katie works part-time making maps for oil companies and also works part-time for Elkhorn Financial. She also sells jewelry and accessories as a hobby when she gets time. Katie is a Make-A-Wish volunteer for North Dakota, a board member for Upper Missouri Ministries Bible Camp, and an avid volunteer in her church, Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church of Williston.
