Know and understand life – with future twists that are soon to come – as David Revell II Knows it.

“Today’s Rights and Illusions”, a book of enlightening, insightful and thought-provoking poems by David Revell II, was exhibited by ReadersMagnet at the New York Library Association (NYLA) 2022 Annual Conference & Trade Show, held last November 3-4, 2022, at the Saratoga Springs City Center, New York.

The NYLA Annual Conference & Trade Show is the biggest state library conference ever held on the East Coast. Hundreds of librarians, trustees, and library supporters from school, academic, public, and special libraries throughout New York state attend the NYLA Annual, participating in various programs and special events aimed toward advancing the New York library community.

Anyone who has visited the ReadersMagnet booth at the NYLA Trade Show should have caught notice of the poetry book “Today’s Rights and Illusions” and treat themselves to astounding poetry by Revell, who finds inspiration from robotics, among other things.

Poems – as well as issues and emotions – are aplenty in the author’s second publishing effort. Readers will be fascinated, intrigued or appalled by poems, such as: “Robotic Supervisor,” “Intimacy of a Robot,” “Unpredictable Politics,” “Women Normalities vs. Male Corruption,” “Obstacles of Education,” “Hollywood Offends Virtues,” “Religion: Written for Human Culture,” “Controversy of a Perfect Religion,” and “Shimmers of a Flawed Industry,” among others. And who wouldn’t be?

“Today’s Rights and Illusions” provides readers with opportunities for rumination through poetry (and, to a great extent, philosophy). The poems invite the reader to reflect upon the modern struggles faced by society and how one can survive in an environment where possibilities and realities, that innovation created, abound. It is a matter of how one could thrive and communicate through society’s transition.
