Film Hatch Media is an international movie house that takes pride in its diverse and thorough exploration of stories. The company’s highly-skilled staff work to provide the optimum service to their clients in the form of press releases, screenplay scripts, book trailers, and such. One such author that catches their attention is Kathleen Olson with her book, Come Run with Me.”

The year is 1857, and slavery in the United States is as ordinary as breathing. Blacks were considered filthy, stupid, and lower than animals. Their only purpose in life was to serve the higher race, the white and fair-skinned. That is, except when you are one of the sympathizers who believe otherwise.

As one of those who believe in equality, Reverend Ebenezer Wellington’s family runs an Underground Railroad station that helps runaway slaves get their freedom by sending them to Canada. It is not an easy task with sheriffs and slave catchers always on the lookout, but that doesn’t stop the Wellingtons from housing, feeding, and sending each individual who passes under their roof.

One night, a group comes through on their way to freedom, but the youngest among them, Hattie, is too sick to travel so she is left behind. Polly Wellington, around the same age, helps Hattie get well again. They soon become fast friends; however, their undeniable bond gets a slave catcher, Mr. Kirby, suspicious over time. This forces the family to make a drastic decision that will ultimately change Polly and Hattie’s lives forever.

How far will you go for a friend who puts you and your loved ones in danger just because of her race?

Whether the answer is for the best or the worst will depend on a harrowing journey from the comforts of their home to the wild, unfurling country before them. Find out whether Polly’s family and Hattie get to attain their freedom or find themselves in chains from the pages of Kathleen Olson’s Come Run with Me.

About the Author:

Ever since grade school, there were two subjects Kathleen Olson loved: writing and history. In “Come Run with Me,” she gets the gift to combine both. The characters of Polly and Hattie were easy to come by as Kathleen had a best friend who was always getting her into things. Kathleen is a wife, mother, grandmother, and world traveler who lives with her husband of 57 years, Tom, in northeastern Illinois. Of course, she loves to write, but she also enjoys cross-stitching, reading, and doing research for her next book.
