GenTek Inc. Delayed In Filing Annual Report On Form 10-K Due To Issues Relating To Tax Provision Arising From Sale

WEBWIRE

GenTek Inc. (Nasdaq:GETI) announced this evening that it would require an extension of time to file its annual report on Form 10-K, which was due to be filed today. The delay in filing was due primarily to the complexity of issues relating to the tax provision arising from the sale of its Noma wire and cable harness assembly business, which closed on February 16, 2007. The resolution of the tax provision issues is not expected to have a material impact on the Company’s operating results for 2006.

As a result of the delay in filing its Form 10-K, the Company also announced the postponement of its earnings conference call previously scheduled for Monday March 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.

The Company expects to file its completed Form 10-K and announce the rescheduling of its earnings call early next week.
