WEBWIRE

Author, Renea Simpson yet again wows us all with her three-part series, “Soul Sister Survival,” where she treads the path of a novelist and at the same time, capture our hearts through brilliant rhymes and rhythms.

Renea Simpson has always had a burning passion for writing poetry and short stories. In grade school and through high school, English and Literature has always been her favorite subjects. Naturally, she excelled in them. And after serving the country as a member of the United States Army, she finally decided to pursue writing, and started to write professionally. Her talent, she believes, is a gift from God. Proudly, she presents this gift to the readers and to the world.

“Soul Sister Survival: Backroads” follows the interesting life of a girl, Francine Cook, and how she would struggle toward self-discovery. Motherless at the young age of eleven, she is left to deal with her alcoholic father, her mortal enemy stepmother, along with the trials and tests she may or may not withstand.

What truly highlights the novel is the author’s original poems found in several pages, which are wonderfully connected to the twists and turns of the story. So aside from the captivating fiction and amazing writing style, her poetry also gives the novel a fresh feel, especially when they seem to serve as a respite from the intensity of the plot.

Time and time again, Renea Simpson proves her prowess as a wordsmith. By embracing literature and perhaps a sprinkle of faith, here she is, offering us yet another book to be fond of. Get your copy now!

About the Author
Renea Simpson is a native of Florence, Alabama, a 1979 graduate of Coffee High School, Florence, Alabama. She served a number of years in United States Army, honorably retiring in 1989. Currently she is pursuing her first passion, writing poetry and fiction. A “positive thinker” she believes in seeing the proverbial glass as half full for God, never let it go empty when you lean and depend on HIM. Her belief on life is: meeting mornings with a smile, sitting, reflecting for a while, “appreciating” God gives you many chances to “get it right and tight” before you leave this life. “Realizing” life is not a game, it is a serious business. Once gone, fortune and fame, all that is left of you are memories “hopefully” a good name.
