Intertek Discusses the New European Union (EU) Recycled Plastics Regulation (for Food Contact Use) During the Smithers Chemical Recycling Summit 2022

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, will present during the Smithers virtual Chemical Recycling Summit 2022, which takes place from November 16 to 17 (Beijing/Singapore time).

This year’s event will focus on global chemical recycling trends, success stories, regulation development, different recycling technologies, and more. Intertek Assuris France expert Anne-Sophie Moriceau, Product Safety Manager – Materials / Toxicologist, PharmD, will present “Recycled Plastics for Food Contact Use: New Regulation in Europe” on Day 2 (November 17th at 11:10 a.m. UTC/GMT). The European Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 on recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foods came into force on 10 October 2022, and repealed Regulation 282/2008/EC. During her presentation, Anne-Sophie will compare the previous and new regulations to discuss the main requirement changes and highlight supply chain roles and responsibilities.
