Guggenheim Honors Director Richard Armstrong and Institutional Partner Dior at 2022 International Gala

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum held the 2022 Guggenheim International Gala. The event honored Richard Armstrong, who will conclude his 15-year tenure as museum director in 2023, and Dior, who has supported the museum and gala for 10 years.

Hosted in the museum’s rotunda, the menu for the seated dinner was created by chef and entrepreneur Rōze Traore. The night featured a live musical performance by multi-GRAMMY awarded singer-songwriter Norah Jones.

This year, the Guggenheim International Gala raised $2.7 million in support of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. As the museum’s signature annual fundraising event, the gala supports the Guggenheim’s range of internationally acclaimed exhibitions, educational programs, and forward-thinking initiatives and ensure that the Guggenheim remains a beacon for modern art and innovative thought.

Guests at the benefit dinner included Derek Blasberg, Rachel Brosnahan, Alexandra Daddario, Nina Dobrev, Thuso Mbedu, Leandra Medine Cohen, Isabela Merced, Maye Musk, Christian Serratos, Nicole Warne, Shaun White, and Amelie Ziber. Among the artists were Sanford Biggers, Nick Cave, Rujeko Hockley, Sheree Hovsepian, Rashid Johnson, Jeff Koons, Angel Otero, Sarah Sze, Mickalene Thomas, Hank Willis Thomas, and Christopher Wool.
