Phil is a follower of Jesus Christ who has tasted the goodness of God and the powers of the age to come and hungers for more. “FireStarter: The Holy Spirit Empowers” chronicles Phil’s academic and experiential transition from being a hard-core dispensationalist – convinced that the manifestational gifts of the Spirit had ceased – to a balanced charismatic, warmly welcoming the empowering work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and communities.

The average reader will be drawn into Phil’s personal stories and track with his careful exegesis. Phil’s thoughtful study demonstrates that Jesus’ promise in Acts 1:8 regarding receiving power when the Holy Spirit comes “upon” you is rooted deep in the soil of the Old Testament. Numerous other themes are also covered including the meaning of “baptism with the Holy Spirit.”

“FireStarter” makes a great gift.
