The historical Christian-themed book “Penelope’s Song: A Seventeenth Century Tale for a Twenty-First Century World” by Carol J. DeMars is all set to be displayed by ReadersMagnet at the New York Library Association 2022 Annual Conference and Trade Show on November 3–4, 2022, at the Saratoga Springs City Center at 522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, and at the ReadersMagnet Book Confab on October 28–30, 2022, at 72 Warren St., Tribeca, New York.

This fascinating book by Carol J. DeMars illuminates the golden age of the United Provinces of the Netherlands in the seventeenth century, a period notable for its support of liberty of conscience, or what people now call freedom of religion in the Constitution.

The tumultuous seventeenth century of Penelope’s Song continues the quest by the Dutch and competing empires for domination of world trade on the high seas and colonization.

It also delves deeply into the Algonquian people that formerly flourished in the eastern woodlands of North America and the religious struggles and conflicts in Europe and England that disrupted their lives.

Carol J. DeMars, a brilliant author, skillfully pulls out the most important parts of her characters’ (both fictional and real-life) stories to show that the fight for political and religious freedom is a perpetual task.
