Enara Health’s Chief Medical Officer Named President-Elect of Obesity Medicine Association

San Mateo, CA, October 17, 2022 – Today, the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) announced Enara Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lydia Alexander, as the organization’s new president-elect, effective immediately. The role will last 18 months, at which point Dr. Alexander will advance into the position of president.

As president-elect, Dr. Alexander will work alongside the OMA president and Board of Trustees to carry out the organization’s strategic plan. She will work to educate clinicians on how to treat and refer for obesity, expand insurance coverage to include medication treatment, promote awareness to reduce the stigma associated with weight issues, expand the OMA’s clinical membership, and extend visibility for the Association’s premier medical journal Obesity Pillars. Prior to being named president-elect, Dr. Alexander served as OMA’s vice president for one year, following two years as Secretary of Treasury and 2 years as Trustee. She has been a member of the OMA Board of Trustees since 2017 serving in various capacities including as secretary/treasurer and as board liaison for the Association’s Outreach Committee and Speaker’s Bureau.

Dr. Alexander also serves as Chief Medical Officer for Enara Health, a technology-powered personalized weight loss program focused on sustainable results, where she works to provide patients with science-backed weight management solutions. She has over a decade of experience as a practicing physician in obesity medicine with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Weight Management group in San Francisco, CA, and is a fellow and diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Alexander was the recipient of the 2018 Obesity Medicine Clinician of the Year Award and the 2019 Dr. Raymond E. Dietz Meritorious Service Award.
