Author PJ Thompson Shares a Fantasy Adventure in Her Book “The Isle of Fire & Ice: Book 1”

Fantasy, adventure, destiny and prophecy are the necessary elements of a great fantasy novel. Many readers will be drawn into the excitement of adventure, the realization of destiny and the fulfillment of prophesy. Adventure stories always open doors to realms larger then our own and also depict characters that are immature at the time but are forced to become adults.

That is the appeal of this adventure story—it draws the reader down a road into mysterious unknown realms while imparting valuable useful knowledge. Dare and Bar, two young males, are the main characters in the Isle of Fire and Ice. They are connected to an island prophecy that states, “Two will stand in evil’s way”. A place of great history and an ancient magic is the island of fire and ice! The pairs’ arrival heralds a fight against evil in a land under the sway of darkness.

Dare is seen at the beginning escaping a life of cruel serfdom and is being chased by the Duke’s soldiers. While Bar, a young prince is fleeing his cruel father the King. The two meet in the mountains when Bar is rescued by Dare after the prince is thrown from his horse and injured. They grow in ability and knowledge as they forge a strong friendship during their exploits. Although they are propelled by a prophecy, the pair isn’t depicted reaping the benefit right away. Instead, as the novel progresses we see them gain experience and maturity.

This is a fun read for all ages! Additionally, it will impart excitement and experience for even young ones. It will perhaps help them survive their island of Fire and Ice if the need arises.
