American Express Launches In Partnership With Conversation Series

American Express (NYSE: AXP) launched the In Partnership With conversations pairing Glenda McNeal, President of Enterprise Strategic Partnerships at American Express, with executives across the company’s roster of strategic partners to dive into the pressing issues facing business leaders today. The series launches with Chris Nassetta, the CEO of Hilton Worldwide diving into the elements that create a truly strategic partnership, leading through crises, building a purpose and action driven culture, and the summer travel resurgence.
Hilton is one of American Express’ longest standing partners with a relationship dating back to 1955, when Hilton became an Amex merchant. Since then, the companies have collaborated to launch co-brand cards, and more recently, to provide humanitarian support during global crises.
The first portion of the conversation explores the longevity and strength of the relationship between Hilton and American Express and how the partnership has impacted the way American Express approaches its roster of partnerships, with innovation and customer value at the core.
“We’ve really taken what was a transactional relationship and made it a partnership,” says Nassetta. “In the end, to have great partnerships, it’s really hard to do without great personal relationships.”
