Books We Love! is back...six months early! For the first time, NPR’s interactive annual reading guide – formerly known as the NPR Book Concierge – will publish summer reading recommendations in a June edition of the beloved feature.

“Year after year, we hear from people eagerly anticipating our annual Books We Love guide,” said Meghan Sullivan, Senior Editor of NPR Books and Culture Desk. “So this year, we thought we’d check in with our staff and freelance critics early to offer readers look at what books we’ve loved so far in 2022. We hope it gives people a chance to get some fun recommendations for summer reading. And we’ll be back with our favorites for all of 2022 in the late fall.”

Readers will be able to mix and match tags including “Realistic Fiction,” “Young Adult,” “It’s All Geek to Me,” and “Rather Short” to personalize their summer reading lists. This year’s recommendations come from employees across NPR and member stations, including Ari Shapiro, Maureen Corrigan, Karen Grigsby Bates, Anya Kamenetz, and more.

Happy reading!
