Pearson Media Group, has collaborated with poet and inspirational writer, Elaine Wiley in publishing her latest book for children entitled “Mali-G Loves to Visit Grandma.”

Most of us have fond memories of our grandmothers. It is proven that a relationship with a grandparent has positive effects on a child’s well-being and psychological development. This story shows the educational concepts that a toddler learns from his visit with his grandma. The way they communicate, play and tell stories to each other shows the bond between a grandmother and her toddler grandson.

Elaine Wiley’s stories are inspired by her family; particularly her children. She is a mother of four and a grandmother of two. This new book is based on her own memories with her grandson, Mali-G. Through her experience as a teacher, and as a grandmother, she has put together precious moments with Mali-G showing his closeness to her. She also wrote about his journey of learning through the activities and stories that they share each time he visits her.

“Mali-G Likes To Visit Grandma” is 32 pages long, with beautiful illustrations by Luther Lomax.

About the author:

Elaine Wiley was a long time employee of the Newark Public School System. She discovered her talent for writing in her adolescent years. She wrote a little story about a childhood experience and she realized that doing so helped me work through it. As a young woman, she found poetry a therapeutic way to cope with the unpleasantries of life. Writing has been her way of expressing her innermost thoughts. A few decades ago, her poem entitled “My Face,” was published by the E.O. Library in a poetry magazine called “The Voice.” Soon, she will also publish her inspiring poetic compilation.

Her work has always been inspired by her own family experiences. Her first book entitled “The Haunted Book” is dedicated to her adolescent daughter. She has four children, and now has two grandchildren, one of which is Mali-G, the main character in this book.
