Tietoevry supports Pride across the Nordics to promote truly inclusive working culture
Pride is a celebration of people coming together in love and friendship, showing how far LGBTQ+ rights have come, and how there still is work to be done in terms of equality and respect for each other. Pride month focuses on raising awareness of equal opportunities, and Pride gatherings are rooted in the arduous history of minority groups who have struggled for decades to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they are.
At Tietoevry, we see diversity being valuable to create a good and inspirational workplace, looking beyond gender identity, nationality, religion, belief system, age, disability, sexual orientation, political opinion or social and ethnic origin. Embracing every individual creates a culture where everyone can flourish and reach their full potential. We are proud to collaborate with Pride in Oslo, Helsinki and Stockholm.
- We want to create a safe environment, where people don’t have to waste energy and creativity on hiding who they are or feeling ashamed. Instead, we want to create opportunities for everyone to flourish and grow. An inclusive company culture enables everyone to be true to oneself, says Trond Vinje, Head of HR at Tietoevry.
Tietoevry is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion to create a working culture where everyone feels welcome. We strive to foster a culture that values difference and recognizes that people from diverse backgrounds bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work. With diverse teams, we will create more innovative solutions for our diverse customers and users.
Involving businesses and companies in Pride visualizes an important message, and hopefully, it contributes to raising awareness amongst employers on how to work for better inclusion in their own company culture. As humans, we automatically interpret each other based on our own frame of reference, and we are all unconsciously biased as a result of our environment and our own experiences. Unconscious bias can be difficult to avoid, and it is therefore important that employers and companies put this work into system and practice.
- Supporting Pride is a visible way for us as a company to show support for the cause and join in on the work. Building diversity and inclusion as key strengths of the company culture requires work from all of us. Every single day – and not just during the Pride Month, says Trond.
