Author La Wanda Marrero Shares Reflections and Insights From Her Past Relationships in “My Love Was Blind”

Only a few authors would bother to write a book to share insights and reflections on their past relationships and strategies for moving forward. La Wanda Marrero is just one of them, having published the book “My Love Was Blind” (Unstoppable Publishing; 2021).

“My Love Was Blind” evolved as Marrero committed herself to a five-thousand-word count in co-writing the book “Blinded Love.” “Unconsciously, I poured myself into the story,” said the author, “and when the contents reached the paper, it flowed into over eighty-thousand words of past loves and the root that lies beneath my imagination.”

Marrero acknowledged the role of God in her writing process and healing. She said: “God revealed to me the inner truth and the debts of His salvation for me. I was unknowing guilty, ignorant to understanding how I contributed, but God shined His light in me, and my eyes were open to ‘My Love was Blind.’”

“As I took inventory of my past loves and myself through the eyes of maturity, I realized there was much work to do on myself. Such as learning how to self-love and give myself love and appreciation. Finally figured out no one can make me whole by faith and the power of my Lord and savior I was born whole the pieces had to come together.”

Author Bio

La Wanda Marrero is an author, poet, mother and grandmother, missionary, community advocate, life insurance advocate, and associate marriage & family clinician. She is the founder of Adnawal Inc. (nonprofit), promoting family health and wellness, physically, emotionally, and mentally. She works through community collaborative partnerships and services for seniors, adults, and youth. She created a therapeutic writing class called “Start Steppin.”

After publishing “Alice N Crackland” in 2008, she realized her writing was an essential tool in acknowledging and accepting and overcoming challenges that she faced as a child. She thought others could also benefit from learning to express themselves through the art of writing and pretense. It’s within her understanding that her past addictions and actions impacted many lives.

The Lord’s grace is her redemption road, a bridge to healing. Having firsthand knowledge of dysfunctional family dynamics has become her motivating passion to become licensed in her field. She recently opened Unstoppable Publishing Company to give others an opportunity to store their experiences in between the covered pages making room for the new.

She has co-authored several books such as “Alice N Crackland,” “Unstoppable,” “When the Vow Breaks,” “Mounted Wings Beyond What I See,” “Blinded Love,” “My Love was Blind,” “Whole Again,” “Let Him Tell it,” the publication of her mother Marie Yvette Simmons’ first book, “Marie’s Treasure Chest,” and second book, “My Life it’s Nothing Personal and Neither is Yours.” A memoir is in the process as well as a host of other evolving projects.
