CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Pegasystems Inc. (Nasdaq: PEGA), the leader in unified process and rules technology, has announced a significant training initiative as it increases efforts to train a growing number of customers, partners and employees across the globe. Under the program, a five-classroom training center, which occupies 5,765 square feet at the company’s Cambridge, Massachusetts corporate headquarters is now open, increasing Pegasystems’ ability to meet the growing demand for training on their BPM product in a world class educational setting.

The training center supports approximately 90 students simultaneously and offers a venue for instructor-led training and certification in connection with Pegasystems’ rules-driven SmartBPM® suite. Last year, Pegasystems trained 2,000 customers, partners and employees and certified more than 800 individuals. The company is expecting a significant increase in participants in 2007 at the new training center as well as other Pegasystems facilities throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The new facility is part of Pegasystems’ global commitment to world class education, ensuring widespread use of its Business Process Management solutions.

“Nearly 100 of our employees completed training last year, and they returned with a far better grasp of BPM and PegaRULES Process Commander. They now have valuable skills that will help our BPM project initiatives in countless areas, including call centers, claims and procurement,” said Walter Ritschel, principle application architect of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. “The skills taught through the instructor led courses have enabled us to get up and running on the technology quickly and drive immediate value throughout our organization.”

“Our mission is to enable our customers to be self-sufficient with PRPC so that they can be successful in implementing PRPC solutions across their enterprises,” said Carolyn Lightner, vice president of customer and partner enablement at Pegasystems. “We see an increasing demand for Pegasystems training, and we will continue to differentiate ourselves by providing state-of-the-art facilities, expert instructors, and highly-effective training courses.”

Pegasystems continues to set the bar higher for BPM, and its commitment to training has made it easier than ever for its customers and partners to acquire necessary skills. To ensure this goal is met, Pegasystems has signed an agreement with well-known training provider Micro Tek to leverage training facilities throughout the US. Pegasystems is also expanding its presence globally through a combination of partnerships with key system integrators as well as global training providers.

In addition to the successful instructor-led training portion of the curriculum, there are plans to add an e-Learning component to the training program later this year. e-Learning will provide a convenient continuing education option to customers and partners, minimizing the need to travel and maximizing their knowledge of Pegasystems’ products.
