The Rafa Nadal Foundation Has Participated in the Conference “Benefits of Physical Activity in Mental Health” Held at the Germans Trias I Pujol Hospital in Badalona
The Rafa Nadal Foundation has been invited to participate in the conference held at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in Badalona on mental health and the benefits of physical activity for these patients.
Eunate Gómez, head of projects, has been in charge of explaining the intervention carried out by the Rafa Nadal Foundation through sport in the different projects.
Through this talk, he was able to summarize before all the people present in the room and those connected through streaming, the entire intervention system of the foundation with sport as an educational and transformation vehicle.
Different specialists in the field and institutions that work for the integration of physical activity in the treatment of mental health, both in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, have taken part in the presentations of this conference.
Magda Casamitjana, director of the National Pact on Mental Health, was present, who explained the priorities of this country agreement, and Dr. Emilio Rojo, who explained the development of this pact.
In addition, Anna Caula, General Secretary of Sport and Physical Activity, took part, Dr. Víctor Pérez detailed the vision of the CATSALUT Mental Health Master Plan focused on sport, and Quim García de Castrillón spoke of the role of sport within the Strategic Plan for Emotional Well-being and Mental Health in the Balearic Islands (IBSALUT).
To end the first part of the day, Dr. Ana Ibáñez from the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital addressed the benefits of physical activity on mental health.
In the second part of the presentations, Dr. Jorge Cuevas, the Institut Pere Mata, the Benito Menni Hospital and the Son Llàtzer Hospital have taken part. A dissemination of experiences has been carried out in the different mental health devices of the Catalan Health Service (CATSALUT) and IBSALUT.
In the different interventions, the strength of sport and physical activity has been discussed as a protective factor against mental health pathologies, and it has been argued that the habits and values associated with practicing sports provide us with elements that improve immunity and Strengthen physically, mentally and psychosocially.
