Altro (Formerly Known As Perch) Honored As Gold, Bronze Stevie® Award Winner In 2022 American Business Awards®

The free credit-building and financial literacy app is recognized for the Entrepreneur of the Year and Small Company of the Year categories

San Francisco – WEBWIRE

Altro (formerly known as Perch), the no-cost platform that helps people build credit through nontraditional payments, was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Entrepreneur of the Year category and a Bronze Stevie Award in the Company of the Year category in The 20th Annual American Business Awards® today.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Monday, June 13. Tickets are now on sale.

More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Thought Leader of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.

Altro Co-founder and CEO, Michael Broughton, was nominated in the Entrepreneur of the Year category for Financial Services, and Altro was nominated in the Small Company of the Year category for Financial Services - Small.

By democratizing credit-building with a public, free-to-use platform, Altro is set to level the financial playing field for millions of Americans by allowing people to build credit using recurring payments like rent and digital subscriptions (Netflix, Spotify, Hulu and more) and providing an expansive library of financial literacy content. From its launch in January 2021, the app made waves, quickly amassing a 200,000 person waitlist. This year, Altro plans to serve more than one million people going forward — empowering them to take out loans, purchase real estate, and seek higher education to achieve their financial goals.

“Altro means ‘other’ in Italian and reflects our core belief that if given the opportunity, knowledge and resources, us ‘others’ will change the world for the better,” Broughton said. “I am honored to be recognized by the American Business Awards for our work towards bringing financial empowerment to all, and congratulations to my fellow winners.”

More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“We are so pleased that we will be able to stage our first ABA awards banquet since 2019 and to celebrate, in person, the achievements of such a diverse group of organizations and individuals,” said Maggie Miller, president of the Stevie Awards.
