D. H. Coop’s book entices readers to join C.E Hall on his investigation.
One could almost see it as a study of loneliness of a beautiful woman reading her book alone, looking like a Morning Dove, which could be a response to Edward Hopper’s painting.
“The Morning Dove” by D.H. Coop will be displayed at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on April 23 - 24, 2022, at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. This book starts off when a small coffee shop named City Sip Coffee is introduced as the town’s local coffee shop for residents. A girl named Sarah would come often as a regular customer in the shop and has a daily routine of sitting in her usual place sipping coffee while reading a book. One day a fire broke out and the first person to notice was Sarah. This is where the City Sip and Sarah’s normal days and routine change.
“The Morning Dove” by D.H. Coop is a surreal story drama in a tiny coastal village. When a tiny fire occurs in an empty theater early one morning, Mabel, the town gossip, sets off a sequence of events that sends the local, state, and federal administrations into a frenzy. Mabel’s vivid imagination is sparked by the fire. As the panic grows, some politicians take advantage of news reporters to advance their own agendas. Mabel isn’t one to shy away from the limelight, and she appears to be anywhere the cameras are pointed. C. E. Hall, the fire inspector, arrives on the scene to investigate and sort out the truth from the fantasy.
