European Union Regional Editor Appointed by Telehealth and Medicine Today

Telehealth and Medicine Today (THMT) is excited to announce the newly appointed EU Regional Editor, Sergio Pillon, MD, to steer the journal’s growth in the region, further enhancing its commitment to bibliodiversity, global growth and awareness for telehealth.

Professor Pillon co-authored the Italian National Telemedicine Guidelines and was the National Coordinator of the Committee for Telemedicine Development, at the Italian Ministry of Health from 2015 to 2019. He is former Chief of Telemedicine of the National Research Program in Antarctica (PNRA) working in tandem with NASA and ESA, leading telemedicine activities. He is a renowned expert in cardiovascular telemedicine and the former Director of the Telemedicine Unit at San Camillo-Forlanini Hospital, and former Medical Director of CIRM (one of the oldest telemedicine services in the world), in Rome. Prof. Pillon co-authored the Chilean Telemedicine and Telehealth Guidelines, is a member of the scientific board of AiSDeT Scientific Association for Digital Health and Telemedicine and Coordinator of Digital Transformation at ASL Frosinone, in Italy.
