Carrefour Belgium: The Shipto service is now available in Namur, and includes – for the first time – delivery to boats

Carrefour’s Shipto delivery service, which is proving increasingly popular in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Liège and Mons – continues to be rolled out and is now available in Namur. Never has shopping been so straightforward – and now that applies to Namur residents as well. People in boats on the river Meuse will be able to have their shopping delivered within 90 minutes – without having to disembark: one of the store’s advantages is that it is located right by the river.

Now it’s Namur’s turn to get Carrefour Belgium’s delivery service. Shipto is sweeping Carrefour into a new era: customers no longer have to go to Carrefour. Instead, Carrefour comes to them – when and wherever they want. To their home, their place of work, to the gym… even to their boat or barge.

Home delivery in just a few clicks 

How does it work? Couldn’t be simpler! The customer downloads the Shipto app, enters their delivery address, selects the Carrefour store and a delivery slot… and then submits their order. And the store delivers to anywhere within a radius of 8 km. Customers can choose from more than 10,000 items. A personal shopper then takes charge of the customer’s order, gets it ready, then goes to the store’s checkout to generate a receipt. The customer then gets a notification via the app asking them to pay. And there’s a little bonus! They can get in touch with the personal shopper at any time if they have any questions or if they want to add an item.

A first for Shipto: delivery to boats moored in front of the store

The Wépion Carrefour hypermarket is in a region where recreational boating is particularly widespread. In fact, between Namur and Hastières, there are no fewer than five boating clubs. The pier has the benefit of being located just behind the store, so boats sailing along the Meuse can stop at this useful location – just before they get to the lock – and pick up a few items of shopping without even having to get off their boat. This service is aimed at people with boats or large barges and is designed to avoid their having to moor their vessels and go to complicated efforts just to do some shopping. All they have to do is give the store address as the delivery address in the app: Wépion Carrefour Hypermarket – Chaussée de Dinant 1147 – 5100 Namur. Then they just have to select their items and indicate what time they will be in front of the Wépion Carrefour so they can pick up their order.
