The new crime mystery thriller that have snagged readers curiosity where Veronica has gone, and the mysteries that surround that surround her sudden disappearance. Is this a one-person missing case, or does it uncover more skeletons in the closet?

Nothing is ever as it appears. A lie can be the truth, and the truth can be as twisted as you want it to be.

Garrison Moreland, author of “Let’s Pay Death Off” (Newman Springs Publishing, 2018), will be featured at Tucson Festival of Books in 2022. This book tells the story of two best friends, Terrence Allen and Donovan Michaels, who returned home to a town filled with untold secrets, surprising revelations, and mysterious deaths. The story begins when they were looking for their old friend, Ethan, but as they met him, they began to wonder if he was still the person he once was, as he now offers new surprises in his life.

The first was that he had a family and a sister named Veronica who eventually became involved with Terrence Allen in a relationship to which he adamantly objected, and days later after that incident. Veronica went missing. It had been quiet since Veronica’s disappearance, which had intrigued the attention of those close to her and prompted an investigation into her abrupt disappearance. But due to the secrets that surround Veronica, they now find themselves in a web of lies, secrets, and death.

And the author has unquestionably outdone himself this time, creating a masterpiece of the crime-mystery genre, intriguing readers to read the puzzling and possibly thrilling case surrounding Veronica’s disappearance. Which left readers wondering why she went missing, if she was dead, and what secret she could have kept from everyone, that she was willing to die for.

Like many books, “Let’s Pay Death Off,” teaches readers that life is quite short whether one is a protagonist or just a side character in the story. They learned that keeping secrets for too long only makes matters worse. The same holds true for withholding your feelings for the other, never expecting he/she would disappear the next day. And the author hopes to address this lesson to his readers because it is never too late to say what you feel and stay by the ones you love.
