SAE Mini Baja 100 Endurance Event Day Set Saturday

News Advisory:

More than 130 SAE student-engineering teams from around the world have registered to compete in Saturday’s Endurance Event, a 100-mile trek on a course at Caterpillar’s Tinaja Hills Training Center in Green Valley, AZ.

All vehicles are conceived, designed and fabricated by student team members.

-- Arizona teams include Northern Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.

-- A record 22 teams from Mexico will compete.

-- Other nations represented from outside the United States include Canada, Guatemala, South Korea and South Africa.

-- Defending champion is Beaver Racing Black of Oregon State University.

-- TIMES: Staging, 7:45 to 8:15 a.m.; Start of race, 8:45 a.m.
