FMWebschool, Inc. Releases FMLock and Dynamo

Glen Allen, Va - March 02, 2007, FMWebschool, Inc. announced the immediate availability of FMLock. FMLock enables you to protect your FileMaker solutions from piracy without the use of a plug-in.

If you are a FileMaker solution provider, you know how frustrating it is to have your hard work passed around from person to person for free. FMLock will prevent this from happening.

If you have a FileMaker database on your computer, and someone wants to copy that database and try to open it on their computer, FMLock will not allow them to do this.

FMLock simply enables you to protect your solution from being illegally resold or copied from computer to computer.

How is this done? We certainly don’t mind sharing our secret. FMLock captures unique information from the computers hardware. We’ll call it internal registration data. The registration data is immediately stored in FileMaker. The next time the database is opened, it runs a comparison check. If the registration data does not match the computers internal registration data, the solution will then quit.

Dynamo enables you to create registration codes for your users and to hard-code them into your FileMaker solution. Simply send them a copy of Dynamo. Dynamo will collect registration information unique to that computer. The customer can then automatically email the registration information to you, or they can simply call you with the registration code. You can then hardcode the registration code into your program and then add our comparison checking routine. When they open the program it will check to make sure the registration data matches their computers internal registration data, if so, the program will be allowed to run on that computer.

Implementation of Dynamo and FMLock is simple and can be added to any FileMaker database solution.
